Services

Pocatello Neighborhood Housing Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that revitalizes central neighborhoods of Pocatello, ID. We revitalize neighborhoods in various ways, including constructing and selling brand new homes, rehabilitating existing homes, down payment and closing cost assistance, rehabilitation loans for existing homeowners, homebuyer education, credit counseling (including foreclosure mitigation and reverse mortgage counseling), a lawn and garden tool lending system and we promote community building and neighborhood organizing.  Since 1993, we have assisted more than 850 first-time homebuyers purchase homes and over 270 families rehabilitate their properties. Available Homes

PNHS believes that home ownership is good for families, neighborhoods and the local economy.  Home owners take care of their property and are interested in improving their neighborhoods.  They contribute to the city's tax base and their home equity provides a source of family wealth.

The PNHS HomeOwnership Center promotes home ownership in Pocatello by providing all the services and training needed to shop for, purchase, rehabilitate, insure and maintain a home.

Lending

Loan Programs Offered by PNHS

Home Improvement Loan

Home Improvement Loans are available to residents within the city limits of Pocatello with emphasis on  low to moderate income applicants, who earn less than 80% of area median income. The home must be owner-occupied and homeowner education class offered by PNHS must be completed. A $300 grant is available to qualified applicants who make visible exterior repairs to their home. Closing Cost Assistance

Closing Cost Assistance Loans are available to Bannock County residents, with income limited to 115% of the area median income. Borrower does not have to be a first time homebuyer, but must contribute the lesser of $1,000 or 1% of sales price of their own funds. Earnest money can satisfy this requirement. Down Payment Assistance

Down Payment Assistance loans are available to residents of Bannock County with income limited to 115% of the area median income and  liquid assets less than $5,000. Borrower does not have to be a first time homebuyer but must complete HomeBuyer Education classes offer by PNHS. For additional information click on the link below.
